Jim Bob is Britain’s greatest living renaissance man. He had fourteen top 40 singles and four top ten albums (including a number one) with Carter USM, toured the world and headlined Glastonbury. Away from Carter Jim Bob has released twelve fourteen or more solo albums, written songs for Ian Dury and for a Barbican production of Dick Whittington & His Cat’. In 2010 he made his Edinburgh Fringe acting debut in the musical ‘Gutted. A Jim of all trades. Jim Bob is the author of six published novels and two memoirs – ‘Goodnight Jim Bob – On The Road With Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine’ and the sequel ‘Jim Bob from Carter’. In 2024 Cherry Red Books published the first ever book of Jim Bob lyrics – ‘Where Songs Come From’, a beautiful full colour coffee table book of songs that turned out to be Jim’s most confessional work to date. Jim Bob’s last three albums, ‘Pop Up Jim Bob’, ‘Who Do We Hate Today’ and ‘Thanks for Reaching Out’ were wall top forty smashes, his ‘Beach Ready Ep’ was Number 1 in both the Vinyl and Physical sales Singles charts. Jim Bob’s latest albums ‘Automatic’ and ‘Stick’ are both released on August 22 2025.
